Is it whisky or whiskey?

That all depends on who you ask and where the spirit originated.

– The word “whisky” is used in Scotland and refers to Scotch, which is whisky made in Scotland.
– The word “whiskey” is used in the U.S. (and other countries) and refers to American-made whiskey (a.k.a. bourbon), most often in Kentucky.
– Scotch is a spirit distilled from malted grain — especially barley or rye — while bourbon, by law, is distilled from at least 51% corn.
