26 Beach Restaurant Review:

Upon entering tchotchke-laden 26 Beach, an outdoor patio --- straight from “Alice in Wonderland” --- is immediately on the left, while a more subtle dining room is opposite. Customer service is a main ingredient here, with servers who are happy to help guests navigate the lengthy menu. There is a smorgasbord of appetizers with dishes like gumbo, ceviche and hot wings all taking part. Salads, pastas and a few pizzas are on order, but the burgers are the real star of the show. There seems to be one representing every country, like the "Bombay burger," topped with a coconut curry sauce, sweet and slightly spicy mango chutney as well as lettuce and tomato that all combines for an overwhelming flavor and messy hands. A few are also crowned "sushi burgers," and include an eight-ounce beef patty topped with chopped spicy tuna, snow crab salad or grilled eel. Tony’s meatloaf, covered with marinara sauce and plenty of cheese, is a hearty entrée, strongly seasoned and accompanied by buttery mashed potatoes. For dessert, there is a blueberry-apple crisp and two kinds of bread pudding. Brunch is popular, with 20 variations of french toast.
