The 4262 Restaurant Review:

Slowly but surely, the antique stores and boutique shops that line the main drag of Long Beach’s Bixby Knolls neighborhood are making room for chill neighborhood eateries. This cozy spot is in the midst of the movement, driven by owner/chef Scott Valenti’s commitment to create a gastropub menu that caters to the locals. He’s so committed, in fact, that some of the items served up are inspired by recipes his area clientele has sent his way. Starters like tuna poke with mango and seaweed salad, maple and mustard-glazed Brussels sprouts, and sliders finished with a garlic sambal aïoli do a good job of establishing the place’s level of culinary comfort. Mains include an array of kicked-up burgers topped with the likes of cotija cheese and heirloom tomato jam as well as hearty fare such as Angus prime rib with Yorkshire pudding and cream spinach. Be sure to save room for the sweet-but-not-too-sweet Japanese plum tart. The list of libations is shaped by several local craft beers and a compact wine collection of exclusively Italian labels.
