Chef Michael Paulsen helms this casual neighborhood restaurant in the charming Ravinia neighborhood of Highland Park. Focused on seasonal and many local foods, the menu has offered dishes like tempura rock shrimp with buffalo sauce and blue cheese dressing, panko-crusted salmon, short ribs with sweet potato gnocchi, and Moroccan spiced whitefish with chickpea purée, asparagus, roasted tomato and yogurt. In the summertime, Paulsen makes a mean sweet corn chowder. Snag a seat early or on the later end; this intimate space fills up fast. Blonde wood floors and furniture, leather banquettes and a small corner bar make the airy, breezy dining room feel like a true haunt.
