Aladdin's Eatery Restaurant Review:
Few chains are known for serving healthy, fresh food. Aladdin's Eatery is trying to change that. The Midwestern group of restaurants offers Lebanese-American dishes like rolled pitas, juice smoothies and kale-quinoa tabbouleh salad for diners who want what fast food can't provide: affordable, nutritious meals that even a vegetarian could like. The extensive menu ranges from appetizers such as hummus and stuffed grape leaves to soups, a dozen salads, pitas and pocket sandwiches as well as full Mediterranean plates of rice, beans, greens and meat, perhaps lamb or grilled lean beef. The kids' menu has typical chicken tenders (only with brown rice and vermicelli or fruit), a cheese pita or even beef kofta. The restaurant also makes specialty cakes that diners see on display and can order by the slice or whole. Desserts span from chocolate fudge cake to traditional baklava. As for drinks, Aladdin's has raw juices, a variety of teas, hand-picked wines and a beer list that includes Lebanese imports.
