Amanda's Restaurant Review:
Amanda's setting is enchanting and warm with seating divided among several dining rooms. The restaurant's trompe l'oeil décor and its menu full of tempting choices attract the well-heeled young professionals who inhabit Hoboken. Salads are complex and artfully presented, illustrated by the baby spinach salad prepared with toasted hazelnuts, dewy Bosc pear slices and salty pecorino ribbons, dressed with lemon vinaigrette. Among entrées, consider the spicy seafood stew, brimming with mussels, clams, shrimp and fish in a light tomato broth. Wines are reasonably priced; special events are hosted on a regular basis. Desserts are something of an afterthought. Early dinners are a bargain: meals for $22 per person and special selection house wines priced at $25 a bottle.
