Andale Mexican Restaurant Restaurant Review:
Andalé began life as a small taqueria on Santa Cruz Avenue in downtown Los Gatos. The taqueria is still there, but Andalé has expanded to include locations in San Francisco, at the San Francisco and Oakland airports, and this larger outpost up the street from the taqueria. The emphasis is on fresh, California-grown ingredients. Andalé has the usual tacos and burritos, but there’s also Mexican rotisserie chicken, chicken tinga tostadas, camarones al ajillo (shrimp cooked in garlic butter) and several vegetarian options. A good choice for health-conscious diners is the mesquite chicken salad, served with organic greens, goat cheese, avocado and a light, flavorful dressing. Be sure to check out the daily specials. Spicing is mild, but there’s a salsa bar for those seeking more heat. Weekend brunch includes Mexican dishes such as chilaquiles, as well as omelets, pancakes and french toast.
