Andanada 141 Restaurant Review:

Set in the space that once housed molecular gastronomy restaurant Gastroarte, this Spanish establishment is a fitting heir. It’s not as avant-garde as its predecessor, but it doesn’t necessarily serve traditional Spanish cuisine, either. And by the likes (and the tastes) of it, Andanada 141 is going to be around for a while. Start with an order of slow-cooked pork loin confit croquettes, which are juicy on the inside. The menu’s only miss also happens to present one of its best items. Scorpion fish flan and cauliflower purée arrive as one dish with the two elements in separate compartments: the flan is forgettable and bland, but the cauliflower is addictive. Tapas-style plates can easily comprise a full meal, but there are more substantial mains to consider, such as the crispy, utterly satisfying pork belly with a chickpea sauce and the lightly fried cod, both well-executed standouts. Desserts similarly impress --- opt for the arroz con leche, a rice pudding accompanied by a crispy rice cracker to scoop it up. Wines focus primarily on Spanish labels, with several options by the glass.
