ANDIRON STEAK & SEA IS CLOSED. Situated on the north side of the Downtown Summerlin mall, Andiron Steak & Sea has floor-to-ceiling windows with white sheer drapes, plantation shutters, and a marble bar top that contribute to an elegant ambience. Begin with the shellfish platter with Maine lobster, king crab, jumbo shrimp, oysters and yellowtail ceviche. Seafood is further represented by Maine sea scallops with English and sugar snap pea shoots and truffle vinaigrette. The burrata and grilled fig salad with dates and tomato is a contrast of flavors and textures. Several fine cuts of meat are charred over an apricot-wood grill and can be complemented with shrimp, Hudson Valley foie gras, Alaskan king crab or lobster. Bone-in classics like the 16-ounce, dry-aged New York strip are served with stuffed bone marrow and red wine bordelaise. Vegetarians will be pleased with the farro risotto with organic mushrooms, asparagus, dates, pea shoots, pine nuts and mascarpone. The mac ‘n’ cheese waffle is made in a waffle press and has a Parmesan crust and cheese sauce --- it’s a unique side not to be missed. A well-rounded wine list includes more than 300 wines from Italy, Australia, Spain, Napa, France, Chile and New Zealand. Finish with the signature crème brûlée donuts filled with vanilla custard. Saturday and Sunday brunch is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and includes items such as caramel custard french toast with pomegranate syrup, almond brittle and whipped cream.
