Andrew's Capital Grill & Bar Restaurant Review:
Andrew's Capital Grill & Bar sits in the shadow of Florida's state Capitol building and offers the best lunchtime view of hungry legislators, lobbyists and lawyers in all of Tallahassee. The menu pays homage to that group with sandwiches named after Governor Jeb Bush and other state and U.S. representatives. Fat, juicy eight-ounce burgers get the nod here, but alternatives include turkey and bacon on sourdough with pesto mayonnaise, tuna pasta salad and hearty soups. There's a mega-buffet for those with a short lunch break (or attention span). Toward day's end, Andrew's generous drinks draw a lively happy hour crowd of downtown workers, pols and twenty-somethings. The Capital Dip---a decadent, bubbling mélange of spinach, smoked Gouda, spices and cream cheese served with tortilla chips---adds sustenance to the mix. Those who stick around for dinner will find more substantial offerings like planked salmon, meatloaf and roast pork.
