Athenian Garden Restaurant Review:
Greek salads and spinach pie are always menu-ready at this restaurant that can be lost amid the shops and boutiques, but its menu is so reliable that it's worth seeking out. We especially like the spanakopita and the saganaki as appetizers. There is also hummus with pita bread and dolmadakia (grape leaves), and the traditional Greek soup, avgolemono. Entrées include gyros, falafel sandwiches or platters and Greek shish kebab. We recommend the moussaka or a guilty pleasure: the sausage platter that features a mild Greek sausage served over rice and topped with grilled onions and peppers. The on-site bakery has a rich array of desserts for eating in or taking out; there's baklava, of course, as well as baklava dipped in chocolate, and galaktoboureko, custard-filled pastry topped with honey.
