212 Steakhouse Restaurant Review:
Set on restaurant-lined East 53rd Street, 212 stands out for its emphasis on high-quality meat. Specifically, Kobe beef. The steakhouse is the only restaurant on the East Coast to gain the approval of the Kobe Beef Distribution & Promotion Council, and it’s worth the splurge. The nicely marbled meat is ultra-tender and satisfying on the palate. Other tempting options include American and Australian Wagyu as well as a huge bone-in filet mignon. But come hungry and start with a dose of creamy burrata, pan-seared foie gras or grilled octopus. And don’t leave without trying the molten chocolate cake. The wine list boasts some serious heavy-hitters, with everything from Château Lafite Rothschild to mid-twentieth-century bottles of Maison Leroy Grands Echezeaux in stock.
