Aqua Restaurant Review:
This multi-purpose bar and restaurant bridges the culinary globe between Asia and Italy while focusing on the views from the 29th floor of One Peking Road. The slick interior has light industrial styling and features soft, warm lighting and an underlit bar, which accentuates the panoramas of the Hong Kong island skyline. An erudite drink selection includes specials like “anxiety” (vodka, fresh pomelo, lime and pink grapefruit juice). The wine list is strong on blockbuster Italian reds and vintage Champagne, which makes the place a popular choice for expense account gatherings or vacationers on their last night in Hong Kong. Choose between the authentic and innovative sushi served in the “aqua tokyo” tatami mat dining room or creative Italian fare from “aqua roma,” like Parma ham with datterini tomatoes, burrata and balsamic pearls, or scallops and lobster with Sardinia’s fregola, cauliflower mousse and pickled shallots. For those who wish to continue into the night, “aqua spirit” located one level up draws stiletto heels and bespoke suits off of the navy blue leather banquette seating and onto the dance floor with nightly performances from resident and international DJs.
