Bleu Boheme Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant: Owner/chef Ken Irvine's bohemian bistro and wine bar, with its chalkboard menus, stone walls and sidewalk patio, fits nicely into eclectic Kensington. At the bar, a lively set gathers for cheese and charcuterie plates paired with fine wine. Others nibble on mussels cooked in white wine and shallots and served with pencil-thin fries.
Food & Drinks: For dinner, we suggest the coq au vin, an authentic version of the peasant chicken and wine dish with salty bacon and caramelized onions. Filet mignon has good flavor --- especially when dipped in any of the three accompanying sauces --- or try another classic French favorite: beef bourguignon. Cap off the meal with profiteroles or chocolate mousse. Service is gracious and not at all stuffy, giving the spot a neighborhood vibe. The extensive wine list offers a fun journey through France.
