Locals and visitors frequent west Marin's Bovine Bakery, famous for its natural, earthy baked goods for more than a decade. Stock up on picnic supplies, such as crusty loaves from Brickmaiden bread, before hitting the Point Reyes National Seashore beaches or hiking trails. You'll also see a lot of cyclists wander in to fuel up on strong coffee and treats. Bear claws, sticky with caramel, are perennial favorites, as are the massive wedges of buttery, blueberry-packed scones. Save room for chocolate chip-oatmeal or chocolate-cherry cookies and the seasonal almond and fruit tart.
