Buckhead Bread Company & Corner Cafe Restaurant Review:
When patrons of Buckhead Life restaurants left the venues having begged to purchase the crusty rustic breads they had just enjoyed, founder Pano Karatassos got the message. That’s how a bakery and café became part of his company’s lineup. Brightly lit with large globe lamps suspended from the high ceilings, and buzzy but not too loud to shock the morning system, the space greets customers with a display of baked products. Its breads and patisserie join locally produced stone-ground grits and a house-made corned beef hash as best breakfast items. Many return for salads or sandwiches at lunch and on weekends for brunch to savor the classic eggs Benedict or very rich crab cake Benedict. There is a wine list, but it's not especially interesting. Coffees include assorted exotic offerings served French press. The restaurant closes at 3:30 p.m. daily.
