Caprice Restaurant Review:

Caprice brings an alluring touch of authentic French flair to Hong Kong. Parisian elegance shines through via the signature illuminated catwalk in the middle of the two-tiered restaurant and in the Swarovski crystal chandeliers. Floor-to-ceiling windows allow natural light and views of Victoria Harbour into the dining area, while an active yet silent and well-orchestrated central open kitchen serves as an entertaining showpiece. There is a wood-paneled private dining room and a Chef’s Table that can seat eight lucky diners, too. Chef Fabrice Vulin oversees the contemporary French menu, with a heavy focus on seasonal and imported ingredients such as Brittany blue lobster, Bresse chicken and duck foie gras. Gourmands are spoiled with choices such as a chilled risotto, sea bass carpaccio, and spider crab with Kristal caviar appetizer; and a main course of royale langoustine ravioli with girolles and watercress coulis. The erudite wine selection includes well-known labels from Bordeaux and Burgundy as well as old- and new-world varietals. Enjoying a dessert from pastry chef Marike van Beurden is a must. Caprice also offers one of the top fromagerie experiences in Asia, with over 25 artisanal French cheeses delivered weekly.
