The Delachaise Restaurant Review:
Located along the Uptown streetcar line, The Delachaise maintains a romantic vibe, from its elegant little street-side courtyard to the interior red walls and banquettes, a window-lined front section and secluded back seating area. Beyond mere ambience, however, the towering chalkboards behind the bar list a selection of wines, beers and spirits to complement the menu. Expect the unexpected: perhaps only in New Orleans would one find frogs’ legs with rémoulade sauce and Cuban twice-cooked pork on the same menu. There's always a pasta dish of the night, and a special is offered each evening as well. Small plates include artisan cheeses, steamed mussels and some good vegetarian choices. The wine list is not lengthy, but it is carefully thought out and constructed. Finish off the evening with a molten chocolate soufflé for dessert.
