The District Lounge Restaurant Review:
The District Lounge is Old Towne Orange’s only hip bar, but the eclectic space --- adorned with red leather walls and black leather booths --- is also known for its food. The build-your-own burger menu isn’t vast, but it’s definitely worth a look. The Angus beef patty is flavorful, plus you can select from three buns, seven cheeses, 20 toppings and 11 sauces, including less-common options such as wasabi mayo, ginger teriyaki and honey mustard. Appetizers range from buttermilk-battered fried chicken chunks and tater tots to spicy upscale nachos. Several entrée salads and modest Mexican fare like tacos also make the list. Hungry students from nearby Chapman University take advantage of the joint's all-you-can-eat Taco Tuesdays. They also hang out late on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights to shoot pool and to groove to whatever beats the evening's DJ is spinning. On weekends, last night's revelers can get the day started with bottomless mimosas and brunch items like omelets and breakfast burritos.
