El Olomega Restaurant Review:

Pupusas haven’t quite found their way onto Manhattan menus, but at this Red Hook Salvadoran truck, they’re the thing to order. A pupusa is a griddled cornmeal pancake stuffed with pork, chorizo, shrimp, sweet plantains with cheese, and anything else you can think of. Try the revuelta, a combination of pork, mozzarella and beans. One of the most unusual is the loroco, made with a flower from Central America that tastes somewhat like a zucchini. Each comes with tangy red sauce and pickled red cabbage on the side. El Olomega also serves Salvadoran beverages including horchata, made with morro fruit instead of rice as in the Mexican version.
