Jones Restaurant Review:
A longtime hotspot on the Melrose scene, Jones not only knows how to serve up a stiff drink, but the restaurant is also recognized as the local alternative to fast food for those late-night munchies. Enjoy pizzas from the old wood oven in the light, sunny front room at lunchtime, or crawl into the dark, pubby main room for the casual nightlife. Specialties range from roast Jidori chicken to branzino roasted on a cedar plank with herbs and lemon. Pastas include classics like linguine and clams or spaghetti with meatballs. For lighter appetites, Jones has an extensive selection of soups, salads and a standout steamed artichoke appetizer with two flavors of aïoli. A long list of cocktails are music-related, with names like the "Keith Moon" or "The Joplin." The restaurant offers delivery, take-out and catering.
