Le Bistrot du Maquis Restaurant Review:
Seasoned chef André Le Letty, renowned for having prepared for years the thick sauce that highlights the canard au sang served at La Tour d’Argent, runs nowadays this old-fashioned bistro in the Montmartre neighborhood. In a homey setting clad with numerous objects, from old clocks to culinary guides displayed on shelves, red floor tiles and a wooden counter, regular customers are treated to traditional fare. Marbled veal shank with foie gras and glazed carrots for a starter, followed by a first-rate sirloin steak drenched in wine sauce with shallots and grenaille potatoes bear witness to the savoir-faire of the chef. Enjoy crunchy chocolate with red fruits for dessert. A few wines are available by the glass, including a fruity and spicy 2013 Côtes du Rhône Principauté d’Orange Jean-Paul Daumen.
