Le Chardenoux Restaurant Review:
Cyril Lignac, the owner of several restaurants in Paris and the inspired author of many cookbooks, is at the helm of this bistro, which first opened its doors in 1908. The establishment’s original 1900 décor offers diners an historic setting that is truly remarkable; the bar is inlaid with 14 varieties of marble. The cuisine highlights traditional techniques; however, the chef adds a touch of creativity. The most popular menu items are the œuf cocotte with boletus mushrooms, the cream of boletus soup served with a hazelnut whipped cream, the olive lamb sautéed in casserole (despite its lack of seasoning), the entrecôte steak Normandy style accompanied by sautéed potatoes, and the vanilla profiteroles with melted chocolate. Lunch menu €27. À la carte €50.
