Le Fou Frog Restaurant Review:

The only thing drab about Le Fou Frog is its beige exterior. But once you step inside the nondescript cinderblock building, you enter another world. The bar is original, circa the 1920's; it’s a grand wood and mirror affair, stocked with able, wisecracking bartenders who shake a mean martini. In turn, executive chef Mano Rafael, originally from Marseilles, works wonders in the kitchen. Some of the dishes are traditional: steak au poivre with pommes frites, bouillabaisse, brandade, foie gras, escargots and the like. Other dishes are more global: fish steamed in banana leaves, white gazpacho, grilled bison and wild game. The lengthy wine list includes plenty of French choices, of course. One of the best happy hours in town happens here from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays when many favorite appetizers and drinks are half-price. On Sundays, when not many other restaurants are open, Le Fou Frog rocks. And that’s not including the live music.
