About the restaurant: Warm and relaxed, with earth tones, stacked stone, a fireplace and natural woods, McCall's Heartland Grill’s décor conveys casual dining, but executive chef Rick Giffen’s hearty, creative comfort fare is given a fine dining presentation.
Food & Drinks: Some of the dishes feature heat, such as the apple wood-smoked, bacon-wrapped prawns sandwiched between red and green jalapeño; Buffalo-style and chile lime chicken wings with blue cheese dressing; and a 12-ounce horseradish-crusted chuck steak with mushrooms and red wine reduction. Steaks feature Midwestern corn-fed USDA Choice beef, including a 12-ounce chargrilled boneless rib-eye with wild mushroom sauce and 18-ounce chargrilled T-bone with red wine reduction and grilled onions. Seafood lovers will be happy with blackened mahi mahi served with roasted pineapple and mango salsa. A loaded Idaho baked potato with traditional fixin’s and green beans with macadamia nuts are standout sides. Finish with Bourbon crème brûlée with white chocolate pecan biscotti. Fifty wines are joined by 25 craft beers and inventive cocktails, such as the Heartland Peach made with Jim Beam Rye, peach schnapps, fruit juices and grenadine.
