Modavie Restaurant Review:

The soft atmospheric lighting, Old Montreal setting, and the live nightly jazz give this restaurant its romantic tone. Sip an Aperol Spritz before tucking into the nightly table d'hôte: snails on pastry in a Pernod sauce followed by a choice of ravioli with truffle cream, duck breast with blackberries or fish with roasted almonds and lemon butter. Or go à la carte with crispy calamari, filet mignon or rack of lamb. Pastas range from traditional preparations such as spaghetti à la Bolonaise to the creative, like pasta Sicilian, lush with Italian sausage and roasted garlic in a spicy tomato sauce spiked with Gorgonzola. The wine list offers selections from the world's premier grape growing regions, with a heavy accent on Italy and France. End the evening with chocolate fondant or the rich tiramisu.
