Parasol's Bar & Restaurant Restaurant Review:
A fixture of the Irish Channel area in Uptown New Orleans, this po' boy shop is nothing fancy, just a typical neighborhood watering hole. There may be a few ceiling tiles missing and a light bulb burned out here and there, but nobody cares. The comfortable neighborhood atmosphere makes this a great place to relax. While sandwiches such as a muffaletta and a BLT are available, the po' boys dominate the offerings: roast beef, oyster and catfish are just a few of the options served on white, wheat, French bread or a bun for the regular size, and French bread exclusively if you go large. Side your sandwich with red beans and rice or maybe some coleslaw. If you look forward to St. Patrick's day each year, this is the place to be for the best street party in the city. But even on a regular weekday, there is always a lot of beer and a lot of activity here.
