Waiters bring steaming bowls of pho, which may be enjoyed simply with sliced beef, or include add-ons such as brisket, flank steak, fat tendon and tripe. Fresh ingredients come on the side to enhance the soup, like basil, bean sprouts, sliced peppers and lime. For hot-heads there is an abundance of spicy condiments on each table to add some fire. There’s no more satisfying quick lunch than a bowl of pho, comfort food that is habit-forming.
