The Restaurant at The Getty Center Restaurant Review:
If you're visiting the Getty Center and simply must dine more elegantly than at its various caféterias and food carts, book a table at its stunningly modern, starched white restaurant. What you'll get for your (top) dollar are table settings worthy of a museum and beautiful-to-behold contemporary cuisine presentations. In addition, the view is breathtaking, especially at sunset. Jean-Paul Lourdes is now the executive chef. His frequently changing menus will highlight seasonal offerings from farmers markets along with locally and sustainably caught fish and shellfish. Dinner dishes could range from cured amberjack to diver scallops with hay-roasted apples, and Brittany loup de mer. End your meal with bread pudding complemented by cinnamon cream or house-made ice cream or sorbet. Also available are themed prix-fixe menus corresponding to special exhibitions. At brunch, guests can select from classics like french toast or try the Wagyu bavette and confit potato.
