The attractive room features exposed beams, a wood-burning oven, and comfortable booths looking out onto a busy street. A contemporary Northwest menu emphasizes sustainable seafood, much of it locally caught. Sample the prosciutto-wrapped trout with cabbage and bacon, or the ahi with winter vegetables paired with a mushroom and olive broth. Top off your meal with seasonal desserts such as chocolate crostata and strawberry cream tarts. The extensive wine menu will not intimidate less-experienced wine drinkers and should hold surprises even for amateur sommeliers. Happy hour features various small plates that you can readily combine into a meal: shrimp and grits; burgers with caramelized onions, tomato jam and fries; pizza; and Brussels sprouts with breakfast sausage. On pleasant days, sidewalk seating offers views of the city's bustling action. Service is friendly and unpretentious.
