Veggie Grill Restaurant Review:
Veggie Grill calls its food wholesome rather than healthy, but this so-called plant-based restaurant is truly vegan. There are absolutely no animal products whatsoever used in meaty-sounding dishes, which include "carne asada," "fried chickin," "grilled chickin" and "steak." It’s all made from wheat and vegetable proteins with a consistency akin to meat products. However, the sandwiches, burgers, wraps and salads here are so good that you may not notice the difference. The burgers and sandwiches are a good place to start for beginners, who will like the accompanying salty sweet potato fries or steamed kale with tangy ginger-miso dressing. The salads are large and full of fresh ingredients. Seeking some sweetness? Don’t miss out on the sticky sweet carrot cake or creamy dark chocolate pudding. This location in the Irvine Spectrum has a nice patio and curbside pick-up service at the center's nearby valet stand.
