Versailles Restaurant Review:

When locals only have time to take out-of-town visitors to one Cuban restaurant, this landmark spot is usually the choice due to its 40-plus years of history. Among its charms is its place as the Latin power players’ primo informal gathering spot; supremely silly (borderline tacky) décor; and 15 minutes of fame in the film “Chef” --- try the Cubano as seen and eaten in the movie. Consider, too, the croquetas and pastelitos, of which they dish out thousands daily. Or you can do as the locals do and opt for the oxtail stew, plantain pie with picadillo or one of the day's handful of specials. Make sure to get a cafecito at La Ventanita post-meal.
