Weiss Restaurant, Deli & Bakery Restaurant Review:
The extensive menu features all the traditional fare; a wide variety of bagels is baked daily on premise. Among breakfast specialties are blintzes and potato latkes. Among platters are “A Little Nosh”---chopped liver, whitefish salad, creamed herring, tuna fish or chicken salad on a bed of romaine with tomatoes, Bermuda onions and a pickle. Matzoh ball soup is always a good bet. Among the half-dozen salads is baby spinach with roasted portobello mushrooms, chopped eggs, Bermuda onions, tomatoes and fresh bacon bits. Sandwiches include all the traditional deli meats, plus roast beef and hamburgers, pastrami burgers, turkey burgers and hot dogs. Hot sandwiches such as the Reuben or turkey melts are served open-face and piled high. Dinners du jour are described on a poster board; our favorite is the chicken Marsala. Also on offer are black and white milkshakes and chocolate egg cream.
