Yamato Japanese Steak House & Sushi Bar Restaurant Review:
There’s nothing quite like seeing your meal go up in flames. At Yamato at least, they are preparing to cook it in a traditional Japanese teppanyaki (iron griddle) style. This sleek, dark space features a small polished bar with plenty of cocktails and a lengthy dining room that houses tables situated around large metallic grills. Once you’ve placed your order, a chef will bring the ingredients out and prepare it in front of you. With artistic aplomb the chef tosses, twists, and catches your meal with great showmanship. You can choose the Japanese style of cuisine such as tempura udon (noodles in broth and tempura) or yaki udon (stir-fried noodles). The teppanyaki features filet mignon, lobster tail, chicken and more, all served with fried rice. All dinner entrées, except for sushi orders, include miso soup and salad. Portions are huge so bring your appetite.
