The Zumbro Restaurant Review:
Tucked away in picturesque Linden Hills, this tried and true little gem makes up for in sheer brunch appeal what it lacks in crowd control. Sure, it’s busy, with everyone and their mother-in-law lining up for the luscious buckwheat and wild rice pancakes. But somehow the chaos is just part of the charm: it’s a bona fide neighborhood spot, where patrons at adjoining tables compare satisfied notes on maple crème fraîche-laden french toast and portobello spinach frittatas. Standouts include chicken-wild rice hash and yellowfin tuna Greek salad, while teddy bear pancakes (complete with fruity smile, naturally) make the little ones coo with delight. With much of the menu locally sourced, it’s no wonder that everything from the homemade soups to the simple sandwiches taste fresh and wholesome. And with friendly, efficient servers, a lovely sunshine-filled patio in summer, and enough elbow room to peruse the Sunday paper, there’s little not to like about the place.
