It’s an interesting idea to open a brewpub and casual café in the middle of this busy Pacific Heights shopping district. The brews here are made on the premises and named for the neighborhood, like Pacific Heights Pilsener, B Spot Amber Lager and the whimsical Buddha Beer (a low-calorie, enlightened lager). The menu could come from any of a dozen brewpubs: buffalo wings, onion rings with dip, crab cakes and small pizzas. Big salads star along with well-built sandwiches. Entrées include fish cheeks, soft-shell crab and a spicy-cured pork chop. All the food is beer-friendly and middle-of-the-road when it comes to flavor.
