THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Back Forty Restaurant Review:
The East Village takes one more step away from its gritty past with this upscale American farm-to-table eatery famous for its fresh quality market ingredients and innovative recipes. Take a seat in the somewhat dim dining room awash in natural wood tones and a casual air mellowed further by a soft eclectic soundtrack. The menu changes regularly according to seasonal availability of ingredients, but it’s hard to go wrong anytime, especially with starters like yucca fries in pepper sauce and “The Core” entrées such as grilled Catskill trout. For those warm city days or nights, enjoy a simple meal seated in the backyard. If you don't fancy venturing out to Avenue B, check out Back Forty West, the SoHo outpost of the original, at 70 Prince St., 212-219-8570.
