Bahama Breeze Restaurant Review:
You can stay up north and still head south at Bahama Breeze, a chain focusing on island cuisine. Start with the crab claws St. Thomas, blue crabs in citrus butter with fire-toasted Cuban bread, before moving on to Bahamian seafood chowder that's filled with shellfish and vegetables and topped with fried shrimp. We're also partial to the wood-grilled chicken with a citrus butter sauce, fresh broccoli and cinnamon mashed sweet potatoes and the Calypso shrimp linguine that's loaded with shrimp, scallions, Creole spices and a touch of cream. For the calorie conscious, there are lighter versions of many of these dishes. Even those who aren’t counting calories should save a few in preparation of dulce de leche cheesecake, Key lime pie or warm chocolate-pineapple upside-down cake. And what’s a trip to the Caribbean without some special tropical drinks? Check out margarita flavors like Tamarind and Grilled Pineapple, or the Tequila Flight to Paradise. Live music enhances the festive vibe.
