Bar B Restaurant Review:
This narrow Chelsea restaurant is really just a long bar with about a dozen stools and a few Japanese chefs busily slinging up very edible Italian fare. Sip on a Negroni or something from the short but nicely priced all-Italian wine list and await the forthcoming feast. The menu includes traditional snacks like various bruschettas and mini pizzas, as well as a caprese salad and pesto pasta dishes. The stand-outs are less traditional: bagna cauda, fresh vegetables with an anchovy dip; crispy and creamy Fontina croquettes; grilled whole Mediterranean shrimp. There isn’t much by way of dessert, so consider another Negroni.
