Bar Margot Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant: Bar Margot fills a space on the mezzanine of Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta in Midtown. The dimly lit environment attracts many post-prandial guests, who gather in conversation groups around various table configurations.

Food & Drinks: Executive chef Michael Patria, who honed his skills in a variety of local and far-flung establishments, has developed a distinctive menu, so dining here may take the form of a snack and a sip or a full meal. The array of small plates is composed of the menu’s most inventive ideas; some could constitute a fine light repast. Among the appetizers is a selection of cured meats, such as Pine Street Market's duck prosciutto or in-house produced options like bresaola. Or choose a composed small plate such as burrata with pistachio butter and sorghum. The half-dozen main plates offer fish, poultry and steak; we enjoyed the duck leg confit with puréed parsnip and a slice of celeriac. Executive pastry chef Lasheeda Perry produces stylish sweet meal-enders --- Biscoff Cream Pie is a banana mousse with chocolate and caramel sauces. Familiar labels from both California and Europe, with a few by-the-glass choices and also half bottles, compose the wine list. A large spirits portfolio ranges through the popular items, including tequilas. Look for the Georgia-produced organic Richland Rum for something special.
