THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED LOCATIONS Bastille Restaurant Review:
Bastille is situated in a very obscure location in an unfrequented section of Alexandria’s Old Town. Nevertheless, it has potential charm. Lunch options include the salade niçoise, an obvious choice for a French restaurant, but we find the portion skimpy. A heartier appetite may be satisfied with the hamburger served with a heaping mound of fries. Dinnertime offers more for the Francophile, with a menu starring such dishes as pâté de foie gras in various guises, as well as duck magret, Parisian bistro steak, lamb chops and seared diver scallops. Other attractions: artisanal cheese, pre-theater menus, and a chef’s tasting menu. The wife-partner is a fine pastry chef, and you may treat yourself to delectable desserts.
