Bayou & Bottle Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant & décor: A major renovation of Four Seasons Hotel Houston brought this lobby bar and restaurant from Richard Sandoval. The open concept space has soaring ceilings and bar and table seating.

Drinks & Food: Expect an extensive spirits selection, more than 160 brands of bourbon and whiskey and a certified bourbon steward. Drop by on Saturdays at 5 p.m. for a free bourbon tasting. On offer in the morning are grab-and-go snacks like bourbon croissants and Umbria coffees. Come here for the special Golf & Grub lunch in the Topgolf Swing Suite for some driving practice and a craft sandwich. A romantic dinner can start with a glass of bubbles and bites of bone marrow and oxtail toast before an entrée of steak frites. The skirt steak is flame-grilled and the hand-cut fries are cooked in beef fat. If that’s too much beef with your bourbon, try the seared chicken breast with a side of Brussels sprouts with pistachios. Top it all off with an espresso and the Bayou chocolate brownie with thick-cut bacon, bourbon and banana ice cream. It may sound odd, but it alone is worth the trip downtown.
