Beda's Biergarten Restaurant Review:
Modeled after pubs in the owners’ native Germany, Beda’s Biergarten has the upbeat ambience you’d expect from a place that offers the option of having your pilsner and hefeweizen served in a two-liter glass boot. The cuisine is authentic, from the spätzle to the schnitzel. Favorites include the sauerkrautauflauf (think German shepherd’s pie), the bratwurst served with house-made curry ketchup, and the Rheinischer kartoffelsalat (potato salad Rhineland style). The latter is specific to the Düsseldorf area near The Netherlands, so it’s not the vinegary Bavarian version, but made with a creamy mayonnaise dressing, pickles and onions. Desserts include an apple strudel and Black Forest cake. Brunch ranges from potato pancakes to a smoked pork chop with eggs. Of course, this being a biergarten, several German beers are on tap, and there’s a good local wine list. Seating is available indoors and out.
