Benoit Restaurant Review:

Groupe Alain Ducasse brought this two-story greenhouse of a bistro to the fashionable Aoyama district. Go for a low-key power lunch (set menus from ¥4,500 including dessert and coffee)---think hand-cut beef tartare, lamb chop jardinière, or beef tail with cabbage leaf. Your sauce might arrive in a small creamer and be presented with the precision for which both France and Japan are famous. For dinner, the omakase (chef’s choice) menu is ¥14,000. The wine list represents every region of France, and includes Grand Cru wines. There is a substantial by-the-glass selection.
