Located amidst a sea of Italian restaurants---think Coco Pazzo and Volare---this stylish Art Deco dining room has no problem packing its warmly lit house. Multi-toned wood floors, well-spaced, linen-topped tables and butter-toned walls create an inviting, upscale feel that’s only furthered by a menu of comforting Italian staples. A requisite (and topnotch) starter of beef carpaccio with arugula, hearts of palm and lush avocado is garnished with slightly tart lemon vinaigrette. Caprese salad is as fresh as a summer’s day with mozzarella, tomatoes, capers and olives. Tagliatelle topped with bolognese is a fine enough rendition with hearty, slow-cooked meat sauce, but peppered tuna arrives dry. Panna cotta, however, is a memorable way to end---its fruity sauce a bright accompaniment to the slick custard.
