Big Star Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant: Chef Paul Kahan's (Blackbird, Avec, The Publican) authentic take on taco classics are certainly wait-worthy.
Food & Drinks: Particularly of note are the pineapple-topped al pastor, the taco de panza (crispy pork belly) and the taco de papas con rajas with potatoes and queso cotija. Less favorable? The queso fundido, which was a bit too pepper-filled for our liking. Another word of wisdom: Try the Big Star margarita at your own risk; this Lunazul Blanco-based concoction is tasty but dangerously boozy. Got a sweet tooth? The dulce de leche milkshake might be up your alley. Also located at 3640 N Clark St., Chicago, 773-857-7120.
