THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES Bistro Lancaster Restaurant Review:
A cozy dining room inside The Lancaster hotel and a landmark in the downtown Theater District, Bistro Lancaster is a popular spot for pre-theater dinners and post-theater desserts. The American bistro offers power breakfasts to downtowners who make deals over smoked salmon and egg-white omelets. Lunches can vary from light (a baby spinach salad with roast chicken, for example) to the heftier Lancaster BLT topped with a fried egg. Before heading to the theater or the opera, stop in for a gin martini and a five- or eight-ounce filet mignon plated with mashed potatoes and oven-roasted asparagus and mushrooms. Get the signature horseradish cream on the side. Try the roasted Gulf Coast shrimp or one of the large salads, perhaps the kale with salmon. There’s a full bar and fairly good wine list as well as dessert for a late-night snack. It’s called the Jack Daniel’s cake and it’s a rush of bourbon-infused chocolate goodness. Wash it down with a 20-year-old port.
