Like it’s Memorial Drive sibling, this casual café with a cheerful yellow and blue country décor offers a true bistro experience. The Guy family, all natives of France and veteran restaurateurs, have opened this second spot where their classic French Chez Georges once resided. Cozily seated and rubbing elbows with others seeking the hearty foods of the south of France, you will be presented with a fragrant loaf of fresh-baked fougasse, a somewhat pretzel-shaped bread of Provence, delicious with spreadable tapenade. Good bets: the house pâté; the stuffed green-lip New Zealand mussels; a sturdy beef stew; a delectable Cornish hen; and a traditional rabbit with prunes. The small selection of French wines complements the menu but bottles sometimes miss the mark.
