Bistrot du Coin Restaurant Review:
Come at night, says the voice on the phone. It’s really buzzy then, jammed and boisterous. We liked the daytime --- mid-afternoon was crowded and buzzy enough. At other times, you’d best make reservations so you can rub elbows with the In Crowd; otherwise, you may have to wait. Start with the flavorful onion soup, which comes with plenty of melted cheese. Want something light? How about a tartine, made with whole-wheat bread with assorted toppings, such as vegetables or ham and cheese? Or go whole hog with the grilled steak (at lunch this becomes a steak salad), sliced duck breast or rabbit stew. Desserts include a brioche with custard, an apple tart and a crème brûlée. The acoustics aren’t terrific, but you’ll probably be having so much fun you won’t care. You can also delve into the restaurant's wine list, cocktails and apéritifs.
