This downtown spot serves up steaks, from a 7-ounce petit filet mignon to a 22-ounce porterhouse, in a no-nonsense setting with a lively ambience. A popular appetizer is a roasted Castroville artichoke served with a lemon-garlic aïoli. Oysters on the half shell, a huge prawn cocktail and crab cakes are also well-prepared starters. In a nod to retro dining, the wedge of iceberg lettuce is napped with blue cheese dressing and bits of bacon; spinach salad is done classically, and so is the Caesar. The juicy prime ribs come with a creamy horseradish sauce. Chicken, fish and pasta dishes round out the menu. Service is crisp.
